Last night, Mulberry celebrated the launch of its 2010 fall collection with some summertime fun, hosting a pool party for some of Hollywood’s most fashionable females at the storied Chateau Marmont. The stylish attendees included Alexa Chung (ofcourse) looking cool in vintage cutoffs and a washed silk blouse and Kate Bosworth, who wore a graphic T-shirt with black skinny jeans. Molly Sims, 90210‘s Shenae Grimes & Jessica Stroup sipped Mulberry mojitos and took pictures with their brand-new Polaroid cameras.
When it comes to beauty icons, I tend to look to muses with a natural, unique, beauty and a sense of perfect imperfections. One of my all time favorites is Jane Birkin; she posesses a timeless beauty. Jane Birkin is an English actress, model, singer and film director who lives in France.
"The" Bag
You may (or ofcourse) recognize it from her name, and yes, who doesn't know what a Birkins is? Back in 1984, Hermes named and designed a handbag after her. On an flight from Paris to London, Jane Birkin pulled her Hermes datebook out of her bag and all her papers fell on the floor. She complained to the passenger sitting next to her that the book should have pockets. That passenger was the chairman of Hermes, Jean-Louis Dumas, and after hearing her complain he created the Birkin bag. We owe you Jane!
Before the show, Saab said, "If a woman doesn't want 'rich,' she doesn't come to couture." So rich was what he gave her. Elie Saab is one reason why Couture is worth admiring. My favorite Picks:
Because she was the inspiration of one of my favorite bags, and because her style is unarguably outstanding, I'll start a 7 day post where for a week there will be a daily post of my favorite looks of Alexa Chung, Hop you'll enjoy it as much as I will.
Haute couture should be fun and fantastic—even almost unwearable! But this season offered plenty of inspiration to take home. Check out my favorite beauty moments from the couture extravaganza!
